Garbage pick-up is mandatory for residential customers. A business may choose their provider. If a business does not choose to have City garbage pick-up, we will not pick-up recyclables from the business. Only items placed in the container furnished by the City will be picked up. Arrangements for excess pick up must be made with City Hall. Additional fees will be required for all excess material. Items such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, and furniture will be picked up only after arrangements have been made with City Hall. (All refrigerators and air conditioning units must have a tag attached stating Freon has been removed). A prepaid $25.00 charge is required for each item to be picked up. |

 The City of Dahlonega picks up recyclables on Wednesday starting at 7:00 a.m. All recyclables must be out and ready for pick up by 7:00 a.m. Recyclables are picked up on Thursday and garbage on Friday in Achasta and River Knoll subdivisions. Each customer is allowed one recycle bin. The customer may call City Hall to request a recycle bin delivered to their residence. Recyclables must be separated or they will not be picked up. Cardboard boxes must be completely empty and flattened. For large quantities of cardboard customers must notify City Hall and make arrangements for pick up. Newspapers will be picked up but must be separated and not wet.

Yard waste will be picked-up at customer's request. Call City Hall and request for those items to be picked up. The City will pick up small trees already cut up for easy removal. Mulch & leaf compost (when available) is located at the City Shop for pick up between 7:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The City will deliver mulch and leaf compost to City customers for a fee of $25.00 for each load. |
